Obituary for Betty Davis

EAST LIVERPOOL - Betty I. Davis, of East Liverpool, passed away Friday evening, August 21, 2020 at the Orchards of East Liverpool following a lengthy illness. She was 90.

Born in East Liverpool, August 27, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Doris Mattie Anthony Russell. A lifetime area resident, she was once employed at the Homer Laughlin China Company and at the former Woodbine Laundry.

A member of the LaCroft Church of the Nazarene and its Homebuilders Sunday School Class, she also was a member of the Area Senior Citizens of East Liverpool.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clinton Davis, whom she married August 9th, 1947.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Moffett of East Liverpool; and one son, William Davis of East Liverpool. There are seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Miller, and Norma Ollis; and by two brothers, William Russell and Walter “Duke” Russell.

Chaplain Lisa Elliott will conduct a funeral service Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Masks and social distancing are required.

Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.
