Obituary for Blaine H. "Buck" McIntosh

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA – Blaine H. “Buck” McIntosh, 75, of Wellsville passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Buck was born in Wellsville on May 26, 1945 a son of the late John and Vivian (Cook) McIntosh. He was a 1963 graduate of Wellsville High School. Buck was a veteran of the Army proudly serving his country in the Vietnam War and was recognized as a sharpshooter.

Buck worked for 40 years starting at Crucible Steel and later retiring from J & L Steel where he worked as a motor inspector and electrician. He was a member of Southern Ruritan Club and was currently serving as their vice president. He was also a life member of the NRA and a founding and life member of Columbiana County Rod and Gun Club. Buck was an avid sportsman and loved deer hunting, trap shooting and going fishing. He and his brother Lew went on many hunting trips together over the past 60 years. He was also very proud of his grandson Mitchell and expects him to graduate with honors from Robert Morris University. Buck was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Wellsville Tigers Football team.

Preceding Buck in death were his wife, whom he married April 3, 1968, Lynn (Smith) McIntosh; son Brian “Bubba” McIntosh; brother Lewis J. “Lew” McIntosh and two sisters Neva Heffner and Rebecca Moss.

Left to cherish his memory are his son John B. McIntosh and his wife Heidi of Wellsville; grandson Mitchell McIntosh of Wellsville; sister Yvonne Dotson of Calcutta; beloved companion Mary Lee Ice; brother-in-law Ralph Smith and his wife Debbie of Canfield, OH; sister-in-law Kay McIntosh of Canton, OH; furry companions Bub and Pootch and also many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Tuesday where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m. Pastor Mark Blakeley and Pastor Dirk Hall will conduct a funeral service Wednesday 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Spring Hill Cemetery where Tri State Veterans Burial Group will provide military honors. In compliance with Ohio state regulations with concerns of the COVID-19 virus masks must be worn at all times in the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to physician assistant Leo Meier, Dr. Mumtaz Husain, East Liverpool City Hospital and the nurses in the ICU for the exceptional care that Buck received.
