Obituary for Cecil Allen Short
BOARDMAN, OHIO – Cecil Allen Short, 69, of Boardman, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
Cecil was born in East Liverpool on November 1, 1950, only son of the late Wilbert and Bettie J. (Mosley) Short, Jr. He was a graduate of East Liverpool High School and attended Youngstown State University. Cecil accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Midland, PA. He loved music and was a huge fan of famed opera singer, Leontyne Price. Cecil was gifted with a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed singing solos and in church choirs.
Left to cherish his memory are his twin sister Cecelia “Cindee” Hargrove and her husband Glenn of Masury, OH; sister Michelle “Mickie” Hathorn and her husband Connie of Copley, OH; niece Glenda Hargrove; nephew Frank Carson; niece Janeen Scurry and her husband Tavonte; great-niece Nya Anderson and two great-nephews, Noah Hargrove and Legend Scurry.
A private service for family will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. The Rev. Thomas Fortini will be officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery.
