Obituary for Charlene J Keener (Moore)

COLUMBIANA – Charlene J. Keener, of Columbiana, passed away Saturday evening, January 30, 2016 at the St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center at 6:20 p.m. She was 78.

Born in Clay County, West Virginia, February 19, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Shirley Morton Moore. She lived in this area since her marriage to her late husband Junior D. Keener, on June 4, 1954.

Charlene had attended the former First Baptist Church of East Liverpool at one time.

Survivors include her daughter: Avis Brewer, and her husband Richard, of Wedgefield, SC, and three grandchildren: William Keck, of Salem, Amy Kifer, and her husband Brian, of Monongahela, PA, and Laura McGivern, and her husband Sean, of Plum, PA. There are four great-grandchildren: Gavin Keck, Zakery Kearns, Makalya and Jesse Kifer.

Charlene is also survived by two sisters: Faye Fitzwater, of Grantsville, WV, and Lynn Mayberry of Lenora, WV. She was also preceded by a sister, Bernice Kincaid.

Friends may visit with the family at the Dawson Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Evangelist Will Montgomery of the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ will conduct services at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Charlene will be laid to rest beside her husband at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following burial, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
