Obituary for Charles Denver "Denny" Brereton, Jr.

EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Charles Denver “Denny” Brereton, Jr., 78, of East Liverpool passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.

Denny was born in East Liverpool on January 18, 1945 a son of the late Charles D. and Vera (Coleman) Brereton. Denny retired from Crucible Steel where he worked in the maintenance department. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing and was a member of Midland Sportsman Club. Denny was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and his family heritage was very important to him. Denny enjoyed the many family vacations and camping trips he took to Florida and Canada with his wife and children.

Preceding Denny in death were his daughter Rebecca Rae Brereton; two grandsons Nathan C. Brereton and Jake R. Cooper and three sisters Nancy Klein, Nanette Pridmore and Joanne Smith.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, whom he married April 8, 1963, Karen (Wolfe) Brereton; two sons Charles “Denny” Brereton III and his wife Julie and John Brereton and his wife Jennifer; three daughters Patty Vantilburg and her husband Robert, Lori Allmon and her husband Jeff and Andrea Cooper and her husband Robert; ten grandchildren Emily Brereton, Meghan Brereton, Anthony Vantilburg and his wife Natalie, Ashley Reynolds and her husband Kade, Amanda Venham and her husband Grant, Stephanie Allmon, Payne Brereton, Hadley Brereton, Alyson Cooper and Abagail Cooper; four great grandsons Braedyn Brereton, Elijah Venham, Grayson Vantilburg and Jaxon Brereton; great granddaughter Murphy Gegas; sister Betsy Chaney and her husband James and brother-in-law Philip Pridmore.

A private service was held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dawson Funeral Home.
