Obituary for Claire M. Fraser
Mr. Claire M. Fraser, 92
WELLSVILLE – Claire M. Fraser, of Wellsville, passed away Monday morning, December 25, 2023, at his home. He was 92.
Born in Canfield, May 8, 1931, he was a son of the late Hugh and Ruth Burbick Fraser. A resident of this area most of his life, he was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1949. He continued his education at The Ohio State University where he studied agriculture. A veteran of the U.S. Army and following his service to our country, he returned home and lived and worked on the family farm outside of Wellsville.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Fraser, at home. The couple married August 21, 1954. He is also survived by his children: three daughters, Ann Adams and her husband, Clyde, Nancy Lee (Greg Gorby) and Catherine Smith and her husband, Wayne, and two sons, Hugh W. Fraser and Daniel A. Fraser. There are ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by a brother, Dr. Charles Fraser.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Tufft and a brother, Clifford Fraser, as well as an infant brother, Thomas Fraser.
Rev. Norman Eckert will conduct a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Private burial will be at Yellow Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
