Obituary for Dale Paul Haney

East Liverpool, Ohio- Dale P. Haney, 89, formerly of Fisher Avenue passed away Memorial Day, May 27, 2019 at 3:48 pm at the Heritage Valley Hospital in Beaver, Pennsylvania following a lengthy illness.

Born July 25, 1929 at New Castle, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late William G. and Edna Petticord Haney. A lifetime area resident, he was retired from the former Crucible Steel Company in Midland, Pennsylvania in 1982 after 29 years of service. At one time he was also the Housing Inspector for the city of East Liverpool.

A veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War, he was a member of the Northside Community Church where he served as the official greeter of the church and enjoyed being known as the “candy man”.

Preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie V. Timmons Haney, whom he married September 17, 1958, she passed away January 22, 1990.

Survivors include one step-daughter, Nancy Folkertsma and her husband, Phil of Grand Rapids, Michigan; as well as one step-granddaughter, Lori Tuttle-Measure and her husband, Scott Measure; and three step-grandsons, Rick Folkertsma and his wife, Sarah, Richard Roach and Ronald Roach. There are four step- great grandchildren.

Besides his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Keith William Haney; and two step-sons, Richard C. Roach and Ronald K. Roach.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool. Pastor Larry Rose of the church will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Calcutta Cemetery.

Immediately following the service, family and friends will gather at the Northside Community Church.
