Obituary for David E. Derenburger

David E. Derenburger, 80

LISBON – David E. Derenburger, of Lisbon, passed away Monday morning, March 25, 2024, at Assumption Village in North Lima. He was 80.

Born June 3, 1943, in East Liverpool, he was a son of the late Edgar C. and Grace E. Burlingame Derenburger. He was a member of the Beaver Local High School Class of 1962 where he played football and baseball. Dave worked at Ferris Coal Company and State Line Resources as a heavy equipment operator. He attended Abundant Life Fellowship in New Waterford.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Elaine Hill Derenburger, whom he married January 22, 1963. There are two children, a daughter, Brenda Sue Mackall and her husband, Randy, of Negley, and a son, David Allen Derenburger and his companion, Sandy Price, of Salem, as well as five grandchildren: Randy David Mackall, Stacey Beebout (Billy), Heather Defilippo (Dom), Megan Derenburger, and Amanda Lewis (David), and nine great-grandchildren.

Also left to cherish his memory are a sister, Margie Jean Crowl, and a brother, Edgar Derenburger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Derenburger, and infant great-grandson, Gavin Krieger and a half-brother, Tom Drerenberger.

Pastor Jeff Schoch of Abundant Life Fellowship will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home where friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at Crest Haven Memory Gardens.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
