Obituary for Dolores "Dee" Sullivan

Dolores Marie “Dee” Sullivan, 89

Dolores Marie “Dee” Sullivan, of East Liverpool, passed away at home Saturday morning, November 25, 2017, following a lengthy illness while surrounded by her loving family. She was 89.

Born in East Liverpool, October 28, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Matilda Landfried. A member of Holy Trinity Parish where she was in the choir, she graduated with the East Liverpool High School Class of 1947. She loved to play the piano and learned to play by ear when she was four years old. At one time she worked in the office for the former Riggs Company in East Liverpool but she was most proud of raising nine children and being a part of a loving family.

Her husband, Raymond J. “Chink” Sullivan, whom she married January 24, 1951, died March 29, 2012.

Surviving are three daughters, Cindy Lowe and her husband, Robert, of Wellsville, Terry Sullivan and her partner, Patty, of Willowick, Ohio, and Mary Ann Lockhart and her husband, John, of East Liverpool; and six sons, Stephen Sullivan and his wife, Beth, of Canton, Jim Sullivan and his wife, Rhonda, of East Liverpool, David Sullivan and his wife, Cindy, of East Liverpool, Raymond Sullivan and his wife, Nina, of East Liverpool, Paul Sullivan and his wife, Sue, of East Liverpool, and Vincent Sullivan and his wife, Lori, of Kensington, Ohio.

There are 25 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Mary Wolf and her husband, Richard, of East Liverpool.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and Vincent Landfried.

Friends may visit Monday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 8 p.m. Father Peter Haladej will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church. There will be a brief service at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday prior to the Mass.

Burial is to be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
