Obituary for Donald W. Chamberlain
EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Donald Wilbur Chamberlain, 88, of East Liverpool formerly of Dixonville passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.
Don was born in East Liverpool on October 24 1934, a son of the late Leroy Hindle "Chink" and Alice Thelma (Malkin) Chamberlain. He graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1959 and was stationed for one year at camp O'Donnell in the Philippines. He worked at Colt Industries as a Millwright in the Cold Strip until he retired in 1981. He last worked at Giant Eagle for 30 years from 1990 to 2020 as a “Paper Specialist”. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed playing volleyball at the YMCA and in the backyard with family and friends into his mid 70's.
Preceding Don in death were his three brothers Lee Chamberlain and his wife Ruth, Richard Chamberlain, and Calvin Chamberlain.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, whom he married June 26, 1960, Joyce H. (Reed) Chamberlain; daughter Cyndi Burcham and her fiancé Brad Buchheit; son Steven Chamberlain and his fiancé Erin Helm; four grandchildren Morgan Burcham, Bailee Baker, Hannah Chamberlain, and Hailey Chamberlain; one great-granddaughter Ellison Jean and sisters-in-law Marilyn and Carla Chamberlain.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday where the family will be present from 2 to 3 p.m. Pastor Stephen Knisely will conduct a celebration of life service at the funeral home on Sunday at 3 p.m.
