Obituary for Donald F Hague

Donald F. “Bud” Hague, 85

SALEM, OHIO – Donald F. “Bud” Hague, of Salem, Ohio, was promoted to Glory, Friday, May 13, 2016 at his home. He was 85.

Born in Chester, West Virginia, May 4, 1931, he was a son of the late Frank Raymond Hague and Mildred Pearson Hague Exton. He was a veteran of the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Navy. For many years he lived in East Liverpool and worked at the former Mackintosh-Hemphill in Midland which later became E.W. Bliss. For the past 22 years, he lived in Salem.

A member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1951, he was a member of The Salvation Army in Salem where he was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Men’s Club and active with the League of Mercy. He loved sports; he was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Cavaliers, he also played basketball on several city leagues and the YMCA league at one time. He also enjoyed bowling, the outdoors and sailing.

Bud was also a skilled wood-worker and enjoyed home improvements.

He is survived by his wife, Sondra Edgell Hague, at home. The couple married November 4, 1960. There are two children, a daughter Colleen Joyce and her husband, Jeff, of Plum, Pennsylvania, and a son Michael Hague and his wife, Pamela, of Stow, Ohio. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Lauren Hague, Steven Joyce, Christina Joyce and Brooke Hague.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Wells.

Private family services were conducted at the Dawson Funeral Home. Lt. Jason Price and Major Tom Hinzman officiated.

Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery in Wellsville.
