Obituary for Donald Lawson

East Liverpool, Ohio- Donald Robert Lawson , Sr., 86, formerly of LaCroft Avenue passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 7:25 p.m. at the Heritage Valley Hospital in Beaver, Pennsylvania following a lengthy illness.

Born in East Liverpool, Ohio on June 13, 1933, he was a son of the late Arthur Hosea and Olive Boyce Lawson. A lifetime area resident, Don started out working for the pottery, then he was a milkman for St. Clair Dairy, he delivered Coca-Cola, owned and operated the D&J Ashland Service Station, then worked for Wonder Car Care. He retired from the S.H. Bell Company after 24 years.

He was a member of the 1st Church of the Nazarene where he served as a Board member, Usher, worked maintenance and taught Sunday School.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Elliott Lawson, whom he married April 23, 1954, at home. There is one daughter, Penny Rombach and her husband, Bill of Washington, Missouri; and three sons, Donald R. Lawson, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Spring Hill, Florida, Jeff Lawson and his wife, Tina of Lisbon, Ohio and Craig Lawson and his wife, Arlene of East Liverpool, Ohio.

In addition, he leaves behind sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by one son, Randall E. Lawson; one daughter-in-law, Jaye L. Lawson; one grandson, Jeffrey Lawson, Jr.; one sister, Pauline “Jean” Rogers and one brother, James A. Lawson.

Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.
