EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Donald W. Pickens, 74, of East Liverpool passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021 at his home.
Donald was born in Chester, WV on June 25, 1947. He was a US Army veteran proudly serving during the Vietnam War. Donald owned and operated his own business D.W. Pickens Industries.
Preceding Donald in death were his son D.J. Pickens; father Francis L. Pickens; mother Dolly Mae (Merrill) Coleman and two sisters Jessie Hall and Carol Lorenzi.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 21 years, whom he married February 17, 2000, Karen (Herman) Pickens; two sons Norman Shields of East Liverpool and Terry Pickens of Brunswick, OH; daughter Cristal S. Cronin and her husband Randy of Hammondsville; stepson Scott J. Foutts of East Liverpool; step daughter Tammy Atkins and her husband Joe of East Liverpool; brother Joe Coleman and his wife Cathy of Georgia; two sisters Dorothy Pickens of Salem, OH and Carol Lynn Phillips and her husband Ronald of East Liverpool; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and beloved dog Dazy.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Norm Eckert of Beechwood Free Methodist Church will conduct a service at the Funeral Home on Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Calcutta U.P. Cemetery.
