Obituary

EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Donald R. Rowe, 72, of East Liverpool passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 at the Orchards of East Liverpool.

Donald was born in Ironton, Ohio on March 15, 1947 a son of the late Harold E. and Emogene (Wineka) Rowe.

Donald lived most of his life in East Liverpool. He was a 1965 graduate of East Liverpool High School. Donald enlisted in the US. Marine Corp shortly after school where he proudly served his country with two tours over a four-year period in Vietnam. Donald was a member of the 1st Church of the Nazarene in East Liverpool. He worked for Crucible Steel until they closed. He also worked at Colt Industries and North Star Steel in Youngstown until 2003.

Preceding Donald in death were his sister Rachel Keyes and niece Tonya McGinnis.

Left to cherish his memory are his stepdaughters Penny Stowers of Calcutta and Melanie Jackson of Washington; stepson Gary Jackson of Leetonia; three sisters Ava Roach of East Liverpool, Judy Ann Johnson of Grayson, KY and Norma Fay Barker and her husband Everett of Olive Hill, KY; nephews Steve Roach and his wife Shelly of East Liverpool, Jay Roach and his wife Lori of Martins Ferry, OH, Joey Johnson and his wife Candi of Huntington, WV, Jeff Keyes and his wife Kim of East Liverpool, Timmy Barker of Olive Hill, KY, Josh Barker of Olive Hill, KY and Zachary Barker of Olive Hill, KY and nieces Tammy Nichols and her husband Wayne of East Liverpool, Teresa Johnson of Grayson, KY, Rosalee Thuessey and her husband Bob of Grayson, KY, Alisa Wright of Moorehead, KY and Beth Cunningham and her husband John of East Liverpool and many great nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Rev. Norm Eckert of Beechwood Free Methodist Church will conduct a funeral service Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Memorial donations in Donald’s name may be directed to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, OH 44512.
