Donald Smith, 83
WELLSVILLE – Donald Smith, of Wellsville, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 18, 2022, at Jefferson Hospital in Clairton, Pennsylvania. He was 83.
Born in Midkiff, Lincoln County, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Willie and Missouri Linville Smith. A resident of this area most of his life, for over 40 years he worked for the Hall China Company. He also owned and operated Don Smith Excavating.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley A. Smith, and 18 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Rob Smith of Wellsville, and Michael Smith and his wife, Cheryl, of Huntington, West Virginia, as well as a grandson, Joey Smith. There are three sisters, Nellie Allen, Ellie Pack, and Lilly Cremeans, along with a special niece, Thelma Leport. He is also survived by his companion Marilyn Wolfe.
Family and friends may visit Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calcutta Cemetery.
Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
