Dorothy R. Gilbert, 90
SALEM – Dorothy R. Gilbert of East Liverpool passed away Thursday morning, May 14, 2020. She was 90.
Born June 26, 1929 in East Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Irma Moffett Harmer. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. She was a member of the East Liverpool High School of 1947.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin O. Gilbert, in 2014. The couple married September 21, 1949. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Staff Sgt. Harry B. Harmer.
She leaves behind four daughters, Deborah Gilbert of Lisbon, Kathryn Smith and her husband, Gary of Saegertown, Pennsylvania, Nancy Rich and her husband, Joseph of Leetonia, and Cynthia Stacey of Kensington, and one son, Stephen Gilbert of Wilmington, North Carolina.
There are twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.
In compliance with Ohio State regulations with concerns of the COVID-19 virus a private family service will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens.
