Dorothy was born in Power Point, Ohio on February 23, 1933, a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (Tursic) Taucher. She was a graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School. A resident of the East Liverpool area most of her life, she worked as an operator at the former Bell Telephone Company and later worked for TCI Cable and CATV.

Dorothy loved to travel, play bingo, do puzzles, take walks outside in the beautiful gardens, and watch the ducks in the pond. She was most happy when spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Deborah Schedel (William), of Findlay, Ohio and Barbara Layman (Robert), of Toledo, Ohio; seven grandchildren William Schedel (Stacy), Christopher Schedel, Kate Mecja (Bledi), Robbie Layman, Kristi Layman, Molly Layman, and Andrew Layman and four great-grandchildren Spencer, Darcy, Blaze, and Quinn Schedel. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Sondra Taucher as well as many nieces and nephews.
