DOROTHY E. WRIGHT, 83

EAST LIVERPOOL – Dorothy E. Wright, 83, passed away at her home on Kelly Avenue in Glenmoor at 8:40 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016, with her family at her side.

A daughter of the late George Henry and Garnet Evelyn May Haun Hackathorn, she was born on April 25, 1932 in East Liverpool.

She married her husband, William Harold Wright, on March 15, 1952, and was a devoted wife and mother. When her sons were nearly grown, she went to work at the former Sterling China Company until her retirement. She loved crocheting and cooking, and her family especially loved her homemade noodles and cranberry salad. Mostly, she enjoyed visiting her grandkids and being near those she loved.

Harold preceded her in death on July 29, 2001.

There are two sons surviving: William R. Wright and his wife, Dana, of Salem, and Robert H. Wright and his wife, Marsha, with whom she resided.

Dorothy is also survived by four grandchildren: Nicole Fox and her husband, Jobe; Natalee Miller and her husband, Jeremy; Briana Fitzpatrick and her husband, Bob; and Zachary Wright, as well as step-grandchildren Kristi Milhoan and her husband, Wes, and Alissa Frampton. There are six great-grandchildren, Micah, Lucas, Kennadi, Reese, Cooper and Asher, along with two step-great-grandchildren, Kamryn and Aden. There is also a brother, Richard Hackathorn, of Palm Coast, FL.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers: Margie Jeanette Maskaluk, Dixie Lenore Bertovic, George Anna McClure, Lester “Dutch” Hackathorn, George Allen Hackathorn, and George Gary Hackathorn. Dorothy was also preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald Henry Wright, who died in 1957.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Friday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Pastor Don Cochran of Tri-State Christian Church will officiate at services to be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park, followed by a continued time of fellowship at the Dawson Family Center.
