EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Edwin C. “Ed” Peters, 94, of East Liverpool passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at The Stone Pear Pavilion.
Ed was born in Newell, WV on May 29, 1928 a son of the late Harold and Carrie (Baker) Peters. He was an Army veteran proudly serving during the Korean War as an infantry scout. Ed retired from Crucible Steel and from the Newell Post Office after over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Riddle Masonic Lodge # 315, East Liverpool Chapter #100 Royal Arch Masons, Keramos Council #95, Pilgrim Commandery #55, Al Koran Shrine and American Legion Post # 114. He was an avid Oak Glen Sports fan. Ed was known as one of the Oak Glen White Hats. He was a founding member of the East Liverpool Old Timers Baseball Association. Ed was an avid golfer.
Preceding Ed in death were his daughter Beth Dunphy; two sisters Darlene Peters and Clara Morgan and two brothers Elmer and Lloyd “Herk” Peters.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, whom he married July 31, 1953, Jean (Poe) Peters; son Kevin Peters of East Liverpool; three grandchildren Christina Peters Culler and her husband Brad Culler of Strongsville, OH, Sarah Dunn of East Liverpool and Olivia Dunphy of Kent, OH; five great grandchildren Mark Dunn, Maddie Dunn, Maycie Dunn, Evan Culler and Aria Culler and brother Richard Peters of North Versailles, PA.
Friends may visit Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Mike Direnzo of Everyday Church will conduct a funeral service Tuesday 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park where Tri State Veterans Burial Group will provide military honors. Riddle Masonic Lodge 315 will provide a Masonic Service Monday at 6 p.m.
Immediately following the service, a time of fellowship will be held at the Dawson Family Center.
