Edytha A. “Ike” Rochester, 85
WELLSVILLE – Edytha A. “Ike” Rochester, of Wellsville, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023, at her home. She was 85.
Born in Venetia, Pennsylvania, January 30, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Edward W. and Gayel Sheppard Carter. A resident of this area most of her life, she was a member of the Calcutta United Presbyterian Church. She also enjoyed dancing and loved animals.
She is survived by her four sons, Eugene Smith, Chris Smith, Clayton Smith, and Clinton Anthony Smith, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a sister, Alberta Frazier and two brothers, Willard and Roy Carter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Clinton Smith, her first husband, Daniel Smith, and her second husband, Albert J. Rochester. She was also preceded by four sisters, Hila Jean Hall, Mary J. VanDyke, Linda McVey, and Betty Homan, along with two brothers, Edward and Floyd Carter.
