Obituary for Elaine D. Durbin (Shattenberg)
CHESTER, WEST VIRGINIA – Elaine D. Durbin, 73, of Wellsville passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Pepperberry Suites in Chester.
Elaine was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, on July 18, 1946 a daughter of the late Rollin L. and Dorothy (Ashenhart) Shattenberg, Jr. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School class of 1964 and Kent State. Elaine was a teacher for East Liverpool City Schools at Westgate retiring after over 30 years of teaching. Elaine was an avid tennis player and also enjoyed her daily walks with her friend Lois.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Amy Allen and her husband Andy of Wellsville; son Kenny Durbin and his wife Michelle of Wellsville; four grandchildren Joshua Gates and his wife Alycia of Toronto, Josie Lee of Wellsville, Kenny Durbin of Wellsville and Ashley Durbin of Wellsville; three great grandchildren Brandon Gates, Madison Gates and Hunter Mettenberger and brother Ray Shattenberg and his wife Sue of London, OH.
Friends may visit Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 6 p.m.
