Obituary for Elmer L. "Ike" Vest, Jr.
CLEVELAND, OHIO – Elmer L. “Ike” Vest, Jr., 66, of East Liverpool passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center with his wife by his side.
Elmer was born in East Liverpool, OH on September 28, 1956. He was a graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1975 and Ohio Valley Business College. Elmer was a veteran of the US Army proudly serving as a calvary scout for 9 years and as an armor crewman for 2 years. He enjoyed woodworking and mechanics. Elmer enjoyed tinkering with computers, playing music, riding his motorcycle and drag racing cars.
Preceding Elmer in death were his parents Elmer L. Vest, Sr and Lucy (Griffith) Cronin.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, whom he married November 9, 1974, Naomi J. (Halstead) Vest; two sons Donald Vest and Rob Vest; two daughters Terra Lipira and her husband Shawn and Jody Cook and her husband Steve; three brothers Terry, Richard and Carl Vest; two sisters Carole Saling and Linda Davidson; step brother Michael Cronin and thirteen grandchildren.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Cinda Taylor will conduct a service at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
