Obituary for Mae Barborak

EAST LIVERPOOL – Ethel Mae (Young) Barborak, 90, entered into everlasting life on September 7, 2021, surrounded by her family at home. Born and raised in East Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Ethel (Wright) Young. She leaves behind the love of her life, Frank Barborak, to whom she was married for 64 years.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Billy Young, and two sisters, Wilma Boso and Maudie Boso.

Mae was a 1949 graduate of East Liverpool High School. Never straying too far from Grimms Bridge Road, she raised her family and tended to her flower and vegetable gardens. She belonged to the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ. She was a wonderful cook and baker who enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She also was an avid canner; always preserving and saving everything from sauce to sauerkraut.

She loved angel statues, collecting porcelain dolls and wind chimes, and was a giver to countless charities.

In addition to her husband, Mae is survived by her daughters: Faith, Tammy and husband Tom Wolfe; Grandchildren: Lacey, Kyle, Tommy and his partner Ashley, and Dylan and his partner Kristen; great-grandchildren: Melody, Karli, Porter, Phoenix, Autumn, and Anika, as well is her beloved little dog, Sophie.

She will be missed dearly, and fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of her Life on Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home where Evangelist Will Montgomery will conduct a service at 1:30 p.m. The family requests that masks be worn at the funeral home.

Burial to follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
