Ethel was born on August 29, 1931 in Mamou, LA, a daughter of the late Israel and Frances Guillory LaFleur. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church, where she had distributed communion to nursing home residents and shut-ins for many years. Ethel also taught religion classes to young children at the church, and belonged to the first Renewal Team, where she formed lasting friendships with people that became like her family. She loved her grandchildren, and also loved playing golf and bowling.

“Bud” preceded her in death on June 8, 2011.

Ethel leaves behind her children: Victoria “Vicci” Cilona of Vermilion, OH; James Boley and his wife, Regie, of Fort Polk, LA; and Daniel Boley and his wife, Anne, of East Liverpool.

Also surviving is a niece MelindaVerone, and her husband Mike, of Lake Charles, and a niece June Forman, of East Liverpool whom she loved like another daughter. Ethel is also survived by a special friend, Cheryl Nalette-Taylor also of East Liverpool.

There are eight grandchildren: Israel Boley and his wife, Lindsey; Danielle Hansen and her husband, Mark; Kristen Pittak and her husband, Michael; Laura Boley; Nathan Boley; Kathryn Boley; Sarah Boley and Frances Boley, as well as four great-grandchildren: Alexa and Tristan Boley, Kristen Grace Reese, and Max Pittak. Her sister, Essie Culotta of Baton Rouge also survives. Preceding her in death were three sisters, Bernice Bell, Beulah Fisher and Nola LaFleur, as well as two brothers, Roy LaFleur and Emile LaFleur.

Father Peter Haladej of the church will preside at a graveside service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Riverview Cemetery. Local arrangements are by the Dawson Funeral Home. Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
