Obituary for Eva Jean Shinton (Higgins)
EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Eva Jean Shinton, 86, of East Liverpool passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022 at her home.
Eva Jean was born in East Liverpool on December 14, 1935 a daughter of the late Harry and Garnett (Creamer) Higgins. She was a member of East Liverpool High School class of 1953. Eva Jean also was a member of the East Liverpool Yacht Club. She was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers fan. Eva Jean was a loving grandmother, and her grandchildren were her world.
Eva Jean was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married August 5, 1953, William S. Shinton and brother Ted Higgins.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Bill Shinton and his best friend Jen Brookes of Lisbon; daughter Vicky Bowers and her husband Charlie of Lisbon; five grandchildren Bill Shinton and his wife Lori of West Chester, OH, Mark Geon of New Waterford, OH, Josh Beaver and his wife Casey of Salem, Wes Bowers and his wife Candi of Lisbon and Jorjanna Bowers of East Liverpool; twelve great grandchildren Dale, Jenna, Zack, Kami, Sarah, Seth, Matthew, Mara, Abbi, Charles “C IV”, Alex and Kaylee; great great grandson Paxton; brother Richard Higgins and his wife Louise of East Liverpool; sister Patricia Copitka of Lisbon; adopted daughter Diana Aldridge of East Liverpool; two adopted granddaughters MaKinsy Carroll and her husband Justin of East Liverpool and Chandler Aldridge of Alliance; adopted great granddaughter Kimber and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit Sunday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Chaplain Keith Neal will conduct a funeral service Monday 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Immediately following the service, a time of fellowship will be held at the Dawson Family Center.
