Obituary for Evelyn M. Hoppel Alexander

Evelyn M. Alexander, 93

CHESTER – Evelyn M. Hoppel Alexander, former Hoppel Drive resident, passed away Saturday morning, December 12, 2020 at the Orchards at Foxcrest. She was 93.

Born in East Liverpool, June 3, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Chester L. and Lillian Smith Hoppel. A resident of this area most of her life, she was a member of the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ. A graduate of the East Liverpool High School and later continued her education at the Ohio Valley Business College.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Alexander, on January 6, 2001. The couple married June 7, 1947. She was also preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Sayre, and two brothers, Leroy Hoppel and Donald Hoppel.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons, John B. Alexander and his wife, Garnet “Gary”, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Todd Alexander and his wife, Leigh Ann, of East Liverpool, along with five grandchildren: Carl Brown and his wife, Caroline, Yvonne Alexander, Kylie Alexander, Nikki Alexander and Jeb Alexander, and six great-grandchildren.

A sister survives as well, Mary Lou English and her husband, Bill, of Strasburg, Ohio.

Evangelist Will Montgomery will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Masks and social distancing are required.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
