FRANCES V. SNOW McGAFFIC, 87

EAST LIVERPOOL – East Liverpool resident Frances V. Snow McGaffic passed away in the emergency room of East Liverpool City Hospital at 10:55 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016. She was 87.

Born at home in Chester on August 9, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Elwin and Irna Fuller Snow. She was raised in this area and had been a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.

On June 14, 1947, she married George Robert “Bob” McGaffic, and they made their home in East Liverpool for over 68 years together. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2016. Frances and Bob were proud of their family and loved following all their kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events, and especially enjoyed having them all over to swim in the backyard pool.

For over 25 years, Frances worked at Mason’s IGA supermarket in Wellsville and was its union shop steward. A Methodist by faith, she was a member of the former United Calvary Methodist Church for many years.

Frances leaves behind two daughters: Mary Lou Maltarich and her husband, Bob, of Millersburg, OH; and Linda Ketchum and her husband, Jeff, of Wellsville. There are six grandchildren: Crystal Agar and her husband, Alan, of Woodstock, GA; Dave Ketchum of Niles, OH; Danielle Wright of Wellsville; Kevin Maltarich and his wife, Carrie, of Millersburg; Kathy Fair and her husband, Mike, also of Millersburg; Steve Ketchum and his wife, Billie Jo, of Sebring.

She was also blessed with 18 great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Elwin Snow, Jr., of Midland, and her husband’s family: Norma Fry of Ravenna, OH; Evelyn DeBee of Washington, PA; Betty James of East Liverpool; Karen Taylor and her husband, Bob, also of East Liverpool; Glenn McGaffic and his wife, Eileen of East Liverpool; and Allen McGaffic and his wife, Patty, also of East Liverpool.

In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded by two sisters, Lauvan Sayre and Mary Snow.

Friends may visit with the family at the Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Pastor Larry Rose of Northside Community Church will conduct services to be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Monday.

Burial will take place at Locust Hill Cemetery, followed by a continued time of fellowship at Northside Church.
