Obituary for Frank E. "Iskie" Gutierrez

East Liverpool, Ohio- Frank E. Gutierrez, 71, of Henry Avenue passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 11:08 a.m. at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio following a lengthy illness.

Born March 6, 1948 at East Liverpool, he was a son of the late Epitacio and Mary Compos Gutierrez. He spent the last 22 years living in East Liverpool moving here from Midland, Pennsylvania. Frank retired from the former Crucible Steel Company in Midland in 1984 after 18 years of service. He then began working at the Beaver Valley Nuclear Plant retiring from there in 2017.

A member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church at St. Aloysius Parish in East Liverpool, he entered the United States Army after high school and became a Green Beret fighting in the Viet Nam War.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge in East Liverpool, the American Legion in Wellsville, the Elks Lodge in Wellsville and the VFW in Wellsville.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Patterson Gutierrez, whom he married July 8, 2000, at home.
There is one daughter, Erika Lynn Dawson of Freedom, Pennsylvania; one son, William Joseph Gutierrez of Ganby, Colorado; and one granddaughter, Lena K. Dawson of Freedom, Pennsylvania.

In addition he is survived by two sisters, Irma Krakar and her husband, Steve of Ohioville, Pennsylvania and Mary Ann Vallecorsa and her husband, Harry of Center Township, Pennsylvania; and two brothers, Anthony Gutierrez of Ore City, Texas and Louis Gregory Gutierrez and his wife, Karen of Chandler, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews and the rest of his extended family.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Gutierrez.

According to Frank’s wishes there will be no visitation or service.
