Obituary for Gary Allan Davis

GARY ALLAN DAVIS, 22

SALEM – On Thursday, March 10, 2016, Gary Allan Davis passed peacefully into his eternal home while at his residence at Two Sisters Home in Salem. He was 22.

Born in East Liverpool on May 27, 1993, he was a son of Melissa Kearns Anderson and her husband, John “Jake” Anderson of Rogers, and Henry James “J.D.” Davis of Lisbon. Gary had been a lifetime county resident and was a 2011 graduate of the Virtual Community School.

At the age of 16, he went to work as a janitor at the County Courthouse, and later was employed at EDI Central. He loved Super Heroes and music of all kinds, and enjoyed being busy, whether playing video games or racing in his wheelchair. A friend to all, his family would say, “to know him was to love him.” Although he dealt with physical limitations throughout his life, he gave hope to others through his actions and his attitude. Gary persevered through life with valor and dignity far surpassing most men.

Gary had attended Trinity Friends Church for years, mostly with his Grandma Jan, and had been baptized in November 2014, surrounded by his family.

In addition to his mother, step-father and father, Gary is survived by a sister, Tyler Pritchett, and a brother, Brian Pritchett, as well as a half-sister, Paige Davis and a half-brother, Tyler Davis. There are two “sisters”, Kathleen Kearns and Amanda Anderson, and a “brother”, John Anderson, along with his paternal grandmother, Jan Davis and his maternal grandfather, John Kearns. Gary also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who were very special to him.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Tuesday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will take place at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Norm Eckert officiating.

Burial will follow at East Carmel Cemetery in Rogers.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for the loving care Gary received at Two Sisters. The kindness of his direct care staff will not be forgotten.
