Obituary for Gary Lee DeGarmo

Gary L. DeGarmo, 80
HOLLAND, OH - Gary L. DeGarmo, 80, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at his daughter's home in Holland, OH after a lengthy illness.
He was born on December 18, 1935 in Wheeling, WV to David and Kathline McKinzie DeGarmo. He was a graduate of Weir High School and was employed for many years by Loblaws Grocery in East Liverpool and International Mill Service in Midland, PA. Gary later owned his own lawn care service.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Hazel Anderson, of Weirton. Gary is survived by his children, Tracy (Stan) Lewis of Holland, OH and Scott DeGarmo of East Liverpool. In addition, he leaves two granddaughters, Ginny Carr of Springfield, IL and Ashley DeGarmo of East Liverpool as well as 2 great-grandsons and many nieces and a nephew.
Gary was a lifelong member of the former Calvary United Methodist Church and Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing pool and was an avid watcher of all sports. In the warmer months, he spent countless hours sitting outside chatting with neighbors in Holland.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will take place at the funeral home Monday at 11:00 a.m.
