Obituary for Rackel Ice

Murfreesboro, Tennessee- Gary Ray “Rackel” Ice, Jr., 53, of Riverwatch Court passed away Monday, September 26th, 2022 at 10:49 a.m. at his residence following a two-year illness battling cancer to the end.

Born December 25th, 1968 in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Gary Ray Ice, Sr. and Gloria Hedrick Ice of Negley, Ohio.

He lived most of his life in this area, moving to Tennessee in 2018. He was employed as an Environmental Construction worker traveling across the United States to ply his trade.
Rackel was a graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1987. During his high school years, he was a standout wrestler, football player and baseball player with the Potters. In 1986 Rackel was the OVAC 138 lbs. Champion. After high school, he enjoyed coaching wrestling, football and baseball around the Ohio valley. He was the founder of “Team Ice Grappling”. He later enjoyed playing softball in various leagues around the area.

Survivors include his wife, Tammi Allingham Ice, whom he married October 19th, 2021, at home. There are three children, daughter Dalani Ice of East Liverpool, Ohio; and sons Dylan Ice of East Liverpool and Dakota Ice of East Liverpool; and three step-children, Brianna Harper and her husband, Spencer of Nashville, Tennessee, Abby Kennedy of Murfreesboro and Nathanael Kennedy of Murfreesboro.

He also leaves behind one sister, Kimberly Ice Jackman and her husband, Jon of Negley, Ohio; one brother, Paul Ice of Negley, Ohio; two grandchildren, Knox Ice and Essex Ice; and three step-grandchildren, Micah Harper, Bella Kennedy and Benjamin Harper.

Besides his father, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Kevin Lee Ice.

Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio. Pastor Mark Blakeley will officiate a funeral service at 6:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
