Obituary for George A. Reynolds

Lisbon, Ohio - George A. Reynolds, Jr., of Lisbon, died Friday night, February 17, 2017 at the Vista Center in Lisbon following a brief illness. He was 91.

Born August 12, 1925 at East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late George A. and Eva Cook Reynolds, Sr. He had lived in the Lisbon area the last forty years. Prior to that, he was a resident of Ravenna, Ohio. He worked as an inspector at the Chrysler Stamping Plant in Twinsburg, Ohio until his retirement in 1987 after over 25 years of service.

Presbyterian by faith, he was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the DAV Chapter 122 in Salem, Ohio where he served as a past commander. At one time, he was active in amateur Ham Radio. Along with his wife, the couple enjoyed camping trips to Canada, especially Wolfe Island.

Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Morris Reynolds, whom he married October 15, 1948. He leaves behind two daughters, Veronica Koch and her husband, August, of Ravenna, and Treva Reynolds of Lisbon; and two sons, James Reynolds of Ravenna, and Michael Reynolds and his wife, Sheila, of Columbus Grove, Ohio.

There are three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as a sister, Barbara Melvin of Monroe, Michigan.

He was also preceded in death by one great-grandchild, along with a sister Mary Jane Foulks, and a brother Joseph Reynolds.

Friends may visit the family on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio. The Reverend Dr. Stephen Cramer will conduct a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
