Obituary for Greta Hutchison (Echols)
Greta L. Hutchison, 87
WELLSVILLE – Greta L. Hutchison, of Wellsville, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 26, 2020, while surrounded by her family at her home. She was 87.
Born in Alliance, December 17, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Dorothy Irene Echols. A resident of this area all her life, she worked as a nurse’s aide at East Liverpool City Hospital until retiring in 1984. A member of the former Penn Avenue United Methodist Church, she loved to travel. Above all things in life, her greatest joy was her family and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Richard A. Hutchison, in 2000. The couple married February 18, 1953. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Arnold, and a son, Michael A. Hutchison.
Survivors include three daughters, Penny Little and her husband, Walt, of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, Terri Smoot and her husband, Randy, of Akron, and Julie Tice and her husband, Mike, of Wellsville. There are nine grandchildren: Angela Smoot Abel and her husband, Kevin, Dustin Smoot, Jason Arnold and his wife, Dani, Justin Arnold and his wife, Amy, Carly Arnold, Amber Hunt and her husband, Jordan, Michael Hutchison, Michael Tice, Jr. and his wife, Jessica, and Matthew Tice and his wife, Lisa; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Rev. Lisa Elliott of Community Hospice conducted a private family service on Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial was at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
