Obituary for Harriet McElhaney (Jenkins)
LISBON, OHIO – Harriet McElhaney, 94, of Guilford Lake passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Salem Regional Medical Center.
Harriet was born in Wellsville, OH on December 29, 1928 a daughter of the late Otto and Myrtle (Wilson) Jenkins, Sr. She worked at Taylor Smith and Taylor Pottery from 1945 to 1972 as a batter out. She enjoyed being outside farming and was an avid mushroom hunter.
Preceding Harriet in death were her husband Lester D. “Red” McElhaney; grandson Ronald “Shawn” Stephen; five brothers Otto, Walter “Doke”, William, Ted and Chuck Jenkins and five sisters Alice Evans, Martha Jerich, Minnie Henry, Daisy Jones and Rachael Shamp.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters Suzann Stephen and Dianne Grezner; son Dale “Rusty” McElhaney; two grandchildren Darla Grey and her husband Billy and Patrick Rodden; three great grandchildren Zachary Stephen, Destiny Grey and Angeline Luckino; great great grandson Colt Stephen; brother John Jenkins and two sisters Jane Kevan and Shirley Callahan.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Monday where the family will be present from 3 to 7 p.m. Evangelist Will Montgomery will conduct a service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
