MR. HOLLIE V. PINKERTON, 89

LISBON – Mr. Hollie V. Pinkerton, of Elkton Road in Lisbon, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at East Liverpool City Hospital. Born November 15, 1927 in East Liverpool, he was a son of the late Hollie C. and Daisy B. Gamble Pinkerton and remained in this area for all of his 89 years.

Hollie was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army at Walter Reed Military Medical Center as a surgical technician.

He had been a welder at the former Patterson Foundry for twenty years, but had primarily been considered a “jack of all trades”.

His wife, Agnes, survives him at home. They were married July 19, 1975.

There are four daughters, Martha Pinkerton of Lisbon, Joy Ingledue of Salem, Misty Dawn Cline and Jennifer Cline both of Lisbon, and four sons, David Pinkerton of Austintown, Jeffrey Mellott of Salem, Larry Mellott and his wife Sue, of Wellsville and James Cline of Youngstown., as well as sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Also surviving are two sisters, Shirley Delposen of East Liverpool, and Martha Williams of Toms Brook, Virginia. Hollie was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Ferguson, and by three brothers, Donald Pinkerton, David Pinkerton and Thomas Pinkerton.

A funeral service will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Ron Boyd of The Church of Jesus Christ in Rogers, and Pastor Rob Ferguson of Grove City, Ohio. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, where the family will be present from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Burial will take place at Calcutta Cemetery where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will provide full military honors.
