Obituary for Maggie Galeota

Maggie Galeota, 90

EAST LIVERPOOL – Immacolata “Maggie” Galeota, of East Liverpool, passed away Saturday evening, January 2, 2021 at the Orchards of East Liverpool. She was 90.

Born in Camini, Province of Reggio Calabria, Italy, January 3, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Francesco and Mary C. Carbonaro Taverniti. A resident of this area since 1966, she was a member of the former St. Ann’s Catholic Church where she was active in its Alter and Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Giuseppe “Joe” Galeota, whom she married February 15, 1964.

She is survived by two daughters Nickie Lisk and her husband, James, of East Liverpool and Mary Jo Davis and her husband, Michael, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; four grandchildren: Lauren Lisk of East Liverpool, James Lisk of East Liverpool, Victoria Mathews of Virginia and Donny Mathews of Reynoldsburg, and five great-granddaughters: Daminyka Lisk, Brynne Powell, Kenzie Minto, Mavis Minto and Reese Minto and one great-grandson: Colt Duke.

Fr. Scott Kopp of Holy Trinity Parish will conduct a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present two hours prior to the service. Masks and social distancing are required.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
