Obituary for Jack Linville

EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Jack D. Linville, 71, of Calcutta passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Jack was born in East Liverpool on July 23, 1950 a son of the late Hilton F. and Lucille (Linkous) Linville. He worked at Crucible Steel, as a foreman at Majestic Manufacturing and in the tool room at Timet in Toronto, OH. Jack was a member of East Liverpool Masonic Lodge #681. He loved all sports especially baseball and was an avid Pirates fan. Jack enjoyed collecting baseball cards, model trains and Hot Wheels Corvettes. He also enjoyed traveling and gardening. Jack always had a large garden and loved his fruit trees. His favorite quote was “Close the door, lets make some memories”. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Preceding Jack in death was his stepson Brian Lowers.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years, whom he married April 25, 2003, Kathy (Haldiman) Linville; stepson Ben Lowers of New Creek, WV and his companion Leslie Wagner of Chapmanville, WV; four grandchildren Ashlee Tunnell and her fiancé Gerred Boatwright of Milton, FL, Tyler Lowers and his wife Haley of Fort Riley, KS, Quinton Wagner of Chapmanville, WV and Willow Wagner of Chapmanville, WV; four great grandchildren Jackson Tunnell of Milton, FL, Liam Lowers of Fort Riley KS, Emberlee Boatwright of Milton, FL and Lincoln Boatwright of Milton, FL; sister Betty Croxall of East Liverpool; two nieces Christina May and her husband Don of Perris, CA and Stacy Lenton and her husband Matt of Salem, OH; nephew Todd Croxall and his companion Holly Schneider of Salem, OH; three brothers-in-law Dan Haldiman and his wife Vickie of Rogers, OH, Jeff Haldiman and his wife Diane of East Palestine, OH and Rusty Haldiman and his wife Bernadette of Negley, OH; sister-in-law Debbie Adams of New Waterford, OH; cousin, whom he considered a brother, John Adkins of Salem, OH and many other cousins whom he dearly loved.

Friends may visit Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pastor Chuck Adkins will conduct a funeral service Monday 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at East Carmel Cemetery in Rogers.
