Obituary for Jackie Carter

Jacqueline Carter, 66

EAST LIVERPOOL – Jacqueline L. “Jackie” Carter, of East Liverpool, passed away Friday evening, February 7, 2020 at Allegheny General Hospital. She was 66.

Born in East Liverpool, October 31, 1953, she was a daughter of the late John E. “Jack” and Ethel Louise Dixon Chavis. She worked at WC Bunting and previously had been a nurses aide at East Liverpool City Hospital. She attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed bowling where she was active in several leagues through the years.

Survivors include her children: Shawnita Bowen and her husband, Errol, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Derek Carter and his wife, Penny, of Calcutta, Braxton Carter of East Liverpool, Shannon Pruett of Springboro, Ohio. There are ten grandchildren: Arian, Preston, Shauntrice, Derek, Jr., Foster, Camden, Chaz, Brittyn, Nicolas and Austin, along with two great-grandchildren: Zayden and Aderis. She is also survived by a sister, Carla Oliver of Maryland and a brother, Chris Chavis of East Liverpool.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry “Bunk” Carter.

Friends may visit Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
