Obituary for Jim Brant
East Liverpool, Ohio- James Calvin Brant, 83, of Vine Street passed away Monday, December 6th, 2021 at 1:53 p.m. at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania following a brief illness.
Born August 11th, 1938 in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Paul James and Roseland Geraldine Parsons Brant. A lifetime area resident, Jim retired from the former K-Mart Store in Calcutta, Ohio when the store closed in 2018. Prior to that, he was the manager of Thrifty City in East End. Jim was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in East Liverpool. Jim was an avid Steelers fan, loved to garden and enjoyed watching Potters basketball.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Robinson Brant, whom he married April 5th, 1998, at home. He leaves behind one daughter, Lisa Jones of Mountain Home, Idaho; two step-daughters, Lynnette Priebe and her husband, Gregory of Goshen, Indiana and Susan Schoonover and her husband, John of North Canton, Ohio; and one step-son, Jarrod Willison and his wife, Stacy of Goshen, Indiana.
There are thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
In addition, he also leaves behind one sister, Alice Hanlon of East Liverpool; and two brothers, William Brant and his wife, Sue of East Liverpool and Richard Brant of East Liverpool.
Besides his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by one son, James G. Brant; one granddaughter, Amanda Seitz and three sisters, JoAnn Curnutte, Beverly Grigatis and Janet Landis.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio. Dr. Robert B. Sylvies of the church will officiate a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
