James T. May, Jr., 72

EAST LIVERPOOL – James T. May, Jr., of Highlandtown, passed away Sunday morning, November 29, 2020 at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 72.

Born in East Liverpool, October 31, 1948, he was a son of the late James T. May, Sr. and Juanita Watson Williams. A resident of this area all his life, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. During the war, Jim was exposed to Agent Orange which affected him throughout his life. Jim worked at Crucible Steel and later worked as a service manager for several area car dealerships. He was a member of the DAV John W. Covert Chapter #47 in East Liverpool.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Cornwell May, at home, as well as his three children: James T. “Jamie” May, III and his wife, Sharon, of Washington State, Eric Dillard of St. Clairsville, and Kristy Dillard of Wellsville. There are two grandchildren: Eric Dillard, II, and Malani Jane Lovett. He also leaves a sister, Anita Cianni and her husband, Frank, of Calcutta, and a special niece who he talked to everyday, Robin Porter and her husband, Larry, of Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Hoppie.
