Obituary for James T. Taylor

EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – James “Jim” “J.T.” Taylor, 87, of East Liverpool passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Calcutta Health Care Center.

Jim was born in East Liverpool on August 18, 1934 a son of the late James J. and Lorena M. (Lisk) Taylor. He was an Army veteran proudly serving our country during the Korean War. Jim worked as a rigger at Crucible Steel. He was a member of Elks Lodge 258, Eagles, Moose and American Legion. Jim was also a member and Past Commander of VFW Post 66. He started playing the saxophone at the age of 8 and played many years for several local bands. For many years Jim was the highlight at the end of the East Liverpool Christmas Parade.

Preceding Jim in death was his 1st wife Dolores (Davidson) Taylor; 2nd wife Wanda (Carver) Taylor; son Brian Taylor; sister Ruth Williamson and son-in-law Pete Shaw.

Left to cherish his memory are two daughters Cyndi Bloor and her husband Jeff of East Liverpool and Debbie Shaw of Wellsville; two sons Jim Taylor and his wife Karen of Streetsboro, OH and Tom Taylor and his wife Missy of East Liverpool; eleven grandchildren D.J. Taylor and his wife Natalie of Chardon, OH, Mark Stevens and his wife Jennifer of Bellville, OH, Erik Taylor of East Liverpool, Tommy Taylor of East Liverpool, Erin Taylor of East Liverpool, Joshlinn Clarke of Pittsburgh, PA, Marie Taylor of Wellsville, Scott Bloor of East Liverpool, Jarrod Bloor and his wife Kristen of East Liverpool, Miranda Keeder and her husband J of New Cumberland and Greg Salsberry of Wellsville; twelve great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and sister Margie Lucas of Florida.

Friends may visit Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 7 p.m. Pastor Norm Eckert will conduct a funeral service Monday 7 p.m. at the funeral home where Tri State Veterans Burial Group will provide military honors. Burial at Spring Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to East Liverpool Elks Lodge 258 Christmas Committee.
