Obituary for James C. "Jim" White

EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – James C. “Jim” White, 72, of East Liverpool passed away Friday, August 30, 2019 at his home with his family by his side following a lengthy illness.

Jim was born in East Liverpool on September 24, 1946 a son of the late Lester and Anna (Rickerd) White. He was a veteran of the US Army proudly serving his country as a helicopter door gunner during the Vietnam War. Jim did body and mechanical work on cars at JC’s Auto which he owned and operated with his brother Kenny. He was member of East Liverpool Elks Lodge #258 and American Legion Post # 736. Jim was very well liked and a friend to everyone.

James was preceded in death by his great grandson Kaiden McDevitt-Ours and brother Lester “Bud” White.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Penni White of East Liverpool; three granddaughters Kaitlyn Crane and her husband Shawn of Land O Lakes, FL, Emilee McClun of Laurel, MD and Hannah Prasco of Land O Lakes, FL; three great grandchildren Brennan Carlin, Noah Gillespie and Addison Jones; two brothers Kenneth “Kenny” White and his wife Gloria of East Liverpool and Elbert White and his wife Sherry of East Liverpool; sister Naomi “Sis” Mattern of Wellsville and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Kim Gadd of House of Prayer will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park where Tri State Veterans Burial Group will provide military honors.
