Obituary for Janet E. McCarron

Janet E. McCarron, 78

EAST LIVERPOOL – Janet E. McCarron, of Calcutta, passed away Saturday morning, December 12, 2020 at the East Liverpool City Hospital. She was 78.

Born in Vandergift, Pennsylvania, July 1, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Bernat Smith. A resident of this area most of her life, she graduated from East Liverpool High School with the Class of 1961 and later furthered her education at the Ohio Valley Business College where she was valedictorian of her class. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Janet loved to quilt and would often give most of her work away. She would put others’ needs before her own, never met a stranger, and always put her family first.

She is survived by her husband, Hugh W. McCarron, at home. The couple married September 14, 1963. There are three children: Paula Fraley and her husband, Mike, of Toledo, Cindy Hensley and her husband, Daniel, of Sunbury, Ohio and Hugh R. “Hughie” McCarron of Harmony, Pennsylvania. Also left to cherish her memory is a daughter-in-law Kelly McCarron of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, along with six grandchildren: Adam Smith, Lauren Smith, Jared Watkins, Mary Catherine Watkins, Drew McCarron and Connor McCarron, and two great-grandchildren: Tyson and Kennadee. She will also be sadly missed by four step-grandchildren: Michael, Olivia, Cassidy and Aaron Fraley, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Arlene Wolf, Nancy Hoback and her twin Janice Simmons. Janet and Janice were inseparable throughout their lives.

A memorial Mass will be conducted at a later date.

Interment will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
