Obituary for Jeanetta J. Hart (Howard)

Jeanetta J. Hart, 84

WELLSVILLE – Jeanetta J. Hart, of Wellsville, passed away suddenly Friday, July 7, 2017 at the East Liverpool City Hospital Emergency Room. She was 84.

Born in Toronto, Ohio, October 10, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Harry Lorenzo Howard, Sr. and Iva Mae Anderson Howard. A very active member of the First Baptist Church in Wellsville, where she taught the Primary Sunday school and the Women’s Sunday school classes, directed the Senior Choir and the Angelics Choir, and taught the Missionary Society. She also was a co-director of the Youth Bible Class, treasurer of the Love Fund, Minister of Music and was the announcement and bulletin clerk.

She was a telephone operator for Ohio Bell and worked at the Tropic Shop and the Hub in Steubenville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hart, whom she married in 1954. She was also preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Douglas and her husband, Kevan, of Steubenville, and a son, Andrew Hart of Pittsburgh, as well as three grandsons, Herbert “Herbie” Hart, Tyler Hart and Michael Harper and two great-grandchildren.

There are 4 sisters Joann Anderson-Johnson, Lenora Douglas, Anola Archibald and Dorothy Williams and 2 brothers James Howard and John Howard,

Friends may visit Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Rev. Roosevelt Thompson will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 12 noon p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery in Wellsville.
