Obituary for Jerry W. Adams

EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Jerry William Adams, of East Liverpool, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Medical Center of Beaver. He was 83.

Born in East Liverpool on March 13, 1939, he was the son of the late Calvin and Eva Sheilds Adams. He was a 1957 graduate of East Liverpool High School.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Carolyn O’Rourke Adams whom he married on July 9, 1960; Three daughters: Tina Johnson and her husband William T. Johnson; Lori Ludwig and her husband Bobby Ludwig; Mary Beohm and her husband Phillip Beohm. There are eight grandchildren: Amber “Chrissy” Cramer, Brandon W. Johnson, Jerrica Johnson, Erica Baker, Allana Baker, Devon Ludwig, Phillip Beohm II and Kamryn “Kami” Beohm. Nine great grandchildren: Alexa Mae Cooper, Jemma Lee Ankrom, Jolion Cramer, Elise Marie Spencer, Ashton Baker, Brody Ludwig, Donovan Ludwig, Sebastian Sly and Amari Sly. All of East Liverpool.

Jerry was the manager of the McCrory store in downtown East Liverpool for most of his adult life. Following the closing of McCrory’s, he owned and operated Hometown Variety, and then opened CJ’s Used Furniture, which he managed with his wife Carolyn and daughter Tina. He retired in 2019.

Jerry was a member of Campground Community Church. He enjoyed going to auctions and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Asa and Calvin Adams and a sister, Mary Muschweck.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the Dawson Funeral Home, from 10:00 a.m. until noon. His friend and Pastor Tom Adkins will conduct the Funeral Service at noon at the funeral home. There will be no graveside services. A luncheon will follow at the Dawson Family Center. He will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
