Obituary for JoAnn M. Kornbau (Hart)

COLUMBIANA, OHIO – JoAnn M. Kornbau, 90, of Columbiana passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at St. Mary’s Alzheimer Center in Columbiana.

JoAnn was born in Lisbon on February 25, 1930 a daughter of the late Louis and Helen (Cox) Hart. She was a graduate of David Anderson High School, Kent State University and did post-graduate study at Youngstown State. JoAnn taught elementary school at Wellsville for 23 years. She was a member of Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church where she served as church treasurer, vice president of the Women’s Association and taught Sunday school.

JoAnn enjoyed traveling especially her trips to Disney World. She also enjoyed attending numerous academic and athletic events of her grandchildren.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband Virgil C. Kornbau.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons Kenneth Kornbau and his wife Barbara of Wellsville and David Kornbau and his wife Anita of Washingtonville, OH; daughter Jeanne Waggoner and her husband Wilbur of Fort Atkinson, WI; eight grandchildren Jennifer Sevenich and her husband Eric, Katie Mayes, Jason Waggoner and his wife Jaime, Andrew Kornbau and his wife Kassandra, Kyle Kornbau and his wife Kathryn, Jill Mallin and her husband Matt, Autumn Woods and her husband Corey and Kristina DeMaria and her husband Joe and 18 great grandchildren.

A celebration of JoAnn’s life will be scheduled at a later date so family and friends can share the many happy moments of her life.
