Joanne Balmenti, 81
SALEM – Joanne Balmenti, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Salem following a lengthy illness. She was 81.
Born in Chester, June 4, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Philip and Artie Belle Neuch Balmenti. A member of the Chester High School Class of 1956, she later earned a degree from West Liberty University and worked as a dental hygienist. For many years she lived in Cleveland and California and recently returned to the East Liverpool area where she was a member of Holy Trinity Parish.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Adams and Josephine Andrews.
Survivors include three sisters: Faye Stofko of Cleveland, Phyllis Bryan of Batesville, Indiana, and Mary Frances Simmons of Cape Coral, Florida, as well as a brother, Sam Balmenti of Calcutta. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Rev. Scott Kopp will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the Dawson Funeral Home.
Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in care of Hospice of the Valley.
