Obituary for John W. Joy, Sr.

EAST LIVERPOOL – John William Joy, Sr., of East Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 55.

Born in East Liverpool on May 19, 1964. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a truck driver.

Survivors include a daughter, Desirea Joy of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; two sons, John W. Joy, Jr. of Sacramento, California, and Jeremiah Joy of Lancaster and granddaughter Azalea Kemp of Lancaster.

He is also survived by his four sisters: Candy Grady of East Liverpool, Tina Gordon of East Liverpool, Susan Everson of East Liverpool, Lizzy Everson of East Palestine, and two brothers, Keith A. Everson Jr. and his wife Etta Husk of East Liverpool and Tanner Everson of East Palestine and stepfather Keith A. Everson, Sr. and his wife Tammy of East Palestine.

John was preceded in death by his father Charles “Hoop” Joy; mother Martha M. Grady Everson; brother Ryan Everson and two sisters Tammy Joy and Estie Louise Fisher.
