Obituary for John Hadley Williams

JOHN HADLEY WILLIAMS, 82

EAST LIVERPOOL – John Hadley Williams passed away at the age of 82 at 5:40 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Essex of Salem. Mr. Williams, of East Liverpool Road in East Liverpool, had been ill for several years.

He was born in East Liverpool on August 19, 1932, a son of the late Gale L. Williams, Sr. and Thelma L. Biggins Williams.

A 1950 graduate of East Liverpool High School, John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

For many years, he worked at Crucible Steel Corporation, and he was a longtime member of the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church.

Surviving him at home is his wife, Iva Mae Sanor Williams, whom he married on November 26, 1955. He is also survived by two sons, Craig Williams of East Liverpool, and Mark Williams, and his wife Ronda, of Lusby, MD. There are also two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister survive as well: Darrell K. Williams, and his wife Dessa, of Palm Springs, CA, Gary Williams, and his wife Patty, of East Liverpool, and Gloria J. Reed, of Scottsdale, AZ. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gale L. Williams, Jr.

Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Rev. Dr. Vel Vais of the church will conduct funeral services at the Dawson Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Monday. Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will provide military honors. Friends and family will then gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
