Obituary for Joseph L. Barrett III
East Liverpool, Ohio – Joseph L. “Joe” Barrett III, 40, of Calcutta passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at East Liverpool City Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer.
Joe was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on July 26, 1978. He was a graduate of Beaver Local High School class of 1997. Joe worked at Walmart then went to work in maintenance at McDonalds in Calcutta. He really enjoyed his job and the people he worked with. Joe loved playing video games and anything dealing with technology. He also loved music and enjoyed playing the bass guitar.
Joseph was preceded in death by his cousin Timothy Barrett.
Surviving are his parents Joesph L. and Roberta “Bobbi” (Wolf) Barrett, Jr. of East Liverpool; sister Diana “Jeanie” (Charles) Helman of Salineville; three nieces Elizabeth “Lizz” Scyoc of Lisbon, Charolette (David) Campbell of Jacksonville, FL and Linda Helman of Salem; three uncles Daniel “Doc” (Pam) Barrett of Fredericktown, Jack Barrett, Sr. of East Liverpool and Oak (Brenda) Delo of Columbiana and two cousins Tammy (Brian) Hunt of Lisbon and Jack Barrett, Jr. of East Liverpool.
Friends may visit Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 3 p.m. Rev. Jan Winnale of Columbiana Nazarene Church will conduct a celebration of life service Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pam Barrett, Janine (Larry) Welsby and the nurses on the 5th floor at East Liverpool City Hospital for the exceptional care that Joe received.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorial donations in Joe’s name be directed to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512.
